The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a notable international milestone with Commissioner of Police Olubode Ojajuni’s victory in the highly competitive election for the INTERPOL Africa Committee. Held at the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, the election outcome secures Nigeria’s fifth seat on the Committee for a two-year tenure.

According to DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the INTERPOL Africa Committee plays a key role in advising the African Regional Conference, facilitating sessions, and identifying strategic crime priorities. Its responsibilities include enhancing cross-border police cooperation, promoting best practices, and developing projects to boost regional and continental security.

This achievement reflects Nigeria’s growing influence and leadership in global law enforcement matters, particularly in the fight against transnational crime, terrorism, and other emerging threats. With CP Olubode’s election, Nigeria will continue to play a critical role in shaping regional and global policing strategies under the INTERPOL framework.
