The Ogun State Police Command has recorded resounding success in its ongoing Operation “No Traffic Gridlock” in Ifo. This is in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, to ensure the free flow of traffic and maintain public order across the State.

This information was disclosed in a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi. The operation resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals and the clearance of major roads of obstructions like planks, shanties, and wares.

The operation involved the deployment of officers and men of the Ifo Division to key locations, particularly the Abekoko and Old Bank axis along the Abeokuta–Lagos Expressway, where persistent traffic obstruction had been observed.

The exercise targeted traders’ illegal display of goods and makeshift structures, which obstructed traffic and violated environmental laws. During the enforcement, several planks, shanties, and wares obstructing the highway were dismantled and evacuated, with over six trucks deployed for removal.

Fifteen individuals who defied lawful directives and violated environmental regulations were arrested and will be charged to court appropriately upon completion of investigation.

CP Ojajuni commended the officers for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to enforcing traffic and environmental laws. He warned that anyone obstructing public roads would face consequences and urged traders and transport operators to follow regulations for public safety.
