20 Suspects Arrested as Lagos Taskforce Storms Criminal Hideout


The Lagos State Taskforce made a bold move on Friday, January 31, conducting a strategic raid operation in the Agboyi-Ketu and Alapere areas, known hotspots for criminal activity. The early morning operation resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects, further solidifying the Taskforce’s commitment to ridding the city of undesirable elements.

Led by Chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele, the operation targeted notorious hideouts, demonstrating the Taskforce’s proactive approach to maintaining safety and sanity in the city. This effort aligns with the state government’s THEMES PLUS agenda, which prioritizes the well-being and security of citizens, a statement signed by the taskforce Spokesperson, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem revealed that the key locations covered during the operation included Mile 12 under-bridge, Ketu Bus Stop, Ketu Garage, Alapere, and Agboyi-Ketu.
The spokesman said that the 20 suspects apprehended during the raid were believed to be involved in unlawful activities, and currently in custody, to be charged to court without delay. Speaking on the operation, CSP Adetayo Akerele stated: “This operation is not unconnected with calls from well-meaning Lagosians who has been clamouring for total clamp down on criminals terrorising these areas.
“It also reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Lagos residents.
“We will continue to identify and clear criminal hideouts to ensure our neighborhoods are secure and free from undesirable elements“The safety of Lagosians is our top priority, and we urge the public to report suspicious activities through the appropriate channels.”
This operation, according to the Public Affairs Director, further highlighted the commitment of the Lagos State Taskforce to ensuring the safety of the environment of all residents by ridding the nooks and crannies of criminal elements.“The agency remains resolute in its mission to create a safe, serene and habitable environment across the metropolis,” he stated.
