During the 16th Lagos Ikeja City Awards at LCCI Alausa on Saturday, May 24 2025, the  discussions centered on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative and the crucial role of involving youths in the narrative. There has been a call for Nigerian youths to engage actively in community politics, ensuring they have a stake in decision-making and a sense of belonging.

The National Chairman of AATNT, Otunba Abdul Falil Abayomi Odunowo, who was also honored at the event, expressed his views to journalists. According to him, Nigeria’s value system requires significant overhaul.

“I’ve never met a more hardworking group than Nigerian youths. Given the population, the percentage of lazy individuals is remarkably low. Most are incredibly diligent. I urge them to get involved in politics – if you’re not at the table, you’re not part of the decision-making process, and you can’t complain about the outcome”.
