Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has convened a meeting with senior officers to ensure robust security measures are in place throughout the state as Christmas and New Year celebrations approach.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Commissioners, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and other senior personnel, emphasized the importance of strengthening police formations to guarantee adequate security across the state. CP Eribo charged senior officers to maintain professionalism, ensure proper supervision of personnel, and foster a seamless working relationship with sister security agencies.

In anticipation of increased human and vehicular traffic during the festive period, the Command has implemented measures to prevent traffic congestion. However, the police have issued a stern warning against the use and firing of bangers, knockouts, carbides, and other explosives, stating that offenders will face the full weight of the law.
