Starting August 1, 2025, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) will exclusively accept Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) applications through a new digital platform, phasing out paper-based submissions.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced the digital transition in a press release signed by ACI Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer, highlighting the move as part of ongoing reforms aimed at boosting transparency, efficiency, and user experience in immigration services.

The new portal, https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, will serve as the sole channel for submitting CERPAC applications. Physical forms will no longer be accepted after July 31, 2025.

“The public should take note that from August 1st, 2025, the use of physical CERPAC forms will be discontinued,” the statement read. “All CERPAC applications after July 31st must be submitted solely through the online portal.”

The NIS urges applicants with paid but unsubmitted paper applications to finalize and submit them by July 31 to avoid losing payment validity and application status. Companies and individuals handling expatriate immigration matters are advised to submit pending applications within the timeframe. Applications not submitted before the deadline will be considered void.

The statement concluded by directing all inquiries to the Public Relations Officer’s office.

The digital transition is part of the Federal Government’s initiative to leverage technology for modernizing public services and streamlining bureaucratic processes.
