The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of Nigerian Standard Passport application fees, effective September 1, 2025.

According to the Nigeria Immigration Service’s Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, new passport fees are now in effect for applications made within Nigeria. The updated rates are as follows:

– A 32-page passport with 5-year validity now costs ₦100,000.
– A 64-page passport with 10-year validity now costs ₦200,000.

Nigerians in the diaspora will continue to pay $150 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity, as these fees remain unchanged.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) explained that the fee review was necessary to maintain the high quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport. The Service assured the public that despite the increase, it remains committed to providing accessible and efficient services.
