Dr. Ayo Ogunsan @49: A Memorable Celebration of an Outstanding Achiever


Eminent personalities extol his virtues and accomplishments
Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, former Chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, celebrated his 49th birthday in grand style at the esteemed Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos On Sunday, October 12.


The occasion was the 5th edition of his spectacular Gospel Hymns and Songs Birthday Concert, which featured uplifting gospel hymns and songs, filling the venue with joyous celebration. As Dr. Ogunsan and his family expressed gratitude to Almighty God for His faithfulness and blessings, esteemed guests from various fields, including top security officials, gathered to commemorate this milestone birthday.
The event took a colorful turn when Dr. Ogunsan mounted the podium, rendering beautiful praises to Almighty God for His blessings on his life and family over the years. Following his heartfelt tribute, members of his family took turns dazzling the audience with special performances.

First up was his daughter, Seun Ogunsan, who sang a soul-stirring praise song, thanking God for her father’s life.
Next was Joy Ogunsan, who mesmerized the audience with a special number titled “Eledumare,” also giving glory to God for her father’s life. Dr. Ogunsan also took a moment to recognize and appreciate the distinguished presence of notable figures at the event.

The event lit up when Dr. Ajoke Ogunsan, the celebrant’s wife and a renowned gospel administrator and composer, took to the stage. She delivered a captivating performance, rendering around five special songs that praised Almighty God for her husband’s life.
Some of the standout tracks included “There’s Nothing Better” and “Jesus, You Are All That Matters.” Her soulful voice and the tone of her music left the guests utterly mesmerized.


In a heartfelt gesture, Dr. Ogunsan serenaded his adoptive father, Sir, Adebukola Adebutu Kensington, affectionately known as Baba Ijebu, with a soulful song, expressing deep gratitude for his philanthropy and dedication to helping the less privileged. As Baba Ijebu prepares to celebrate his 90th birthday, Dr. Ogunsan seized the opportunity to praise the patriarch, describing him as a life-changing figure who has had a profound impact on his life.


He commended Chief Adebutu’s character, warning detractors to refrain from tarnishing his reputation. Dr. Ogunsan emphasized that getting to know Chief Adebutu up close reveals his true greatness, and he wished him a happy birthday in advance, celebrating a remarkable 90 years of life.

Many esteemed guests graced the event, sharing heartfelt tributes about Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. Among the notable speakers were retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Abiodun Alabi and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Moshood Jimoh. DIG Alabi described Dr. Ogunsan as a wonderful individual who has made significant contributions to security in Lagos, praising him as a dependable brother and friend whom he holds in high esteem.

CP Jimoh, meanwhile, revealed that Dr. Ogunsan was one of the first people he reached out to when he assumed office as CP in Lagos, highlighting the respect and importance he places on their relationship.

FirstBank’s MD/CEO, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, praised Dr. Ogunsan’s contributions to Lagos, citing their long-standing relationship spanning many years. He encouraged Dr. Ogunsan to continue his good work.
Several Lagos State Commissioners also attended the event, paying tribute to Dr. Ayo Ogunsan’s outstanding contributions. Among them were:

Prof. Ayo Abayomi, Commissioner for Health, who lauded Dr. Ogunsan’s dedication to enhancing Lagos State’s security. Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, who described Dr. Ogunsan’s selfless service to Lagos State as unforgettable. Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, who commended Dr. Ogunsan’s commitment to the state’s progress.

The event drew prominent individuals, including His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Shekoni Faronbi Osolo of Isolo, Sir,Adebukola Adebutu Kensington (Baba Ijebu), FirstBank’s MD/CEO, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, P.A. Olu Okeowe, and the Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria, Yan Yuqing, along with other diplomats.

The occasion was also honored by top security chiefs, such as AIG Yetunde Longe (rtd), former Force Secretary; AIG Fayoade Adegoke, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos; AIG Margaret Ochala, FCID Alagbon, AIG Olanrewaju Ishola ( Rtrd), DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi ; and other senior Police officers, including CSP Elijah Ayo (DPO Man Center), CSP Taiwo Akinwunmi (DPO Ikeja Division), CSP Toyosi Sokunbi (DPO Alausa), SP Kamal Momoh (DPO Apapa Division) and SP Salako

In a message of appreciation, Dr. Ogunsan wrote: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each of you who made this event truly unforgettable. Your presence and kind words have touched my heart. I’m blessed to have such incredible friends and family surrounding me.
