As DCI Onajinrin Inspires Officers to Embody Humility and Steadfastness

The Nigeria Immigration Service, Alausa Passport Office, Lagos, Nigeria, hosted a heartwarming Christmas Carol Service on Monday, December 8, 2025. The service was a poignant reflection of the humble birth of Jesus Christ, who was born in a manger to exemplify humility for mankind.

The event began with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the hymn ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’. This was followed by a Bible reading from Matthew 1:21, which states, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” A prayer section was taken, and the congregation sang ‘Joy To The World’.

In her welcome speech, Mrs. Titi Oyewole warmly welcomed the Passport Control Officer (PCO) of Alausa Passport Office, DCI Onajinrin, Former Retired Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Idowu, guests and other officers to the Alausa Carol service.

Subsequently, DCI Onajinrin delivered a word of exhortation, saying, “Today is a memorable day in the history of Alausa Passport Office. The Christian Fellowship hasn’t been functional, but now it is very functional. We are using today’s thanksgiving carol day to thank God for lives, as we reflect on Jesus’ humble beginnings, born in a manger. I want to plead with my officers of Alausa Passport Office to be steadfast and show humility as you are in the uniform. As in the course of rendering your services, be humble and remain focused. Let people see in you that you are a child of God. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Former Retired ACG Idowu also encouraged the officers to walk in the way of the Lord, forsaking sins and doing what is right in the sight of the Lord, saying, “So that the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ will never go in vain.” He referenced Bible verses from Matthew 1, Mark 10:18, and Genesis 18:21, speaking about Jesus’ salvation, humility, and redemption.

Additionally, Bro. Patrick gave a word of exhortation, urging officers to be conscious of the end time, saying, “Your behavior will tell people the kind of person you are.”

The Thanksgiving service concluded with a closing prayer and the singing of the hymn, Silent Night, Holy Night. The service was a lively one, full of prayer, singing hymns, praises, rejoicing, and showing gratitude to God for sparing lives from January to December.
