The Commander, SP Godwin Abraham Commends Team’s Unwavering Commitment to Safety

The Torch News has honored eight deserving officers of Command Special Squad 2 with prestigious Awards of Excellence, recognizing their outstanding contributions to law enforcement and community safety. The award ceremony was held at the office of SP Abraham Godwin, Commander of Command Special Squad 2, on Thursday, March 12th, 2026.

ASP Charles Igiebor, 2IC Commander of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been recognized for Unwavering Dedication and Professional Service. His leadership led to a drop in crime rates, and he’s been praised for inspiring excellence and impacting community safety.

With over 30 years of service since joining the Nigeria Police Force in 1992, ASP Igiebor has held various roles, including counter-duty officer, investigator, and traffic officer. He holds a BSc in Business Administration and an Advanced Diploma in Criminology and Security Studies.

ADMIN OFFICER COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2, ASP OJIEMEN FRIDAY

ASP Ojiemen Friday, Admin Officer of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Exemplary Gallantry and Dedicated Service. He demonstrated exceptional leadership, driving operational efficiency and boosting team performance.

His efforts contributed to reduced crime rates in Lagos. With over 26 years of service, ASP Friday has served in various roles, including surveillance, anti-car theft, and intelligence. He’s a recipient of a Gallantry Award and has participated in specialized trainings.

ASP SAMBO BENJAMIN EXHIBIT KEEPER COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2

ASP Sambo Benjamin, Exhibit Keeper of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been recognized for Outstanding Service. He ensured evidence integrity, contributing to decreased crime rates in Lagos. With over 25 years of service since 2001, ASP Benjamin has held various roles, including operative, tracker, and exhibit keeper. His work showcases dedication, expertise, and professionalism.

ASP KONGO DANLADI, TEAM LEADER OF COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2

ASP Kongo Danladi, Team Leader of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Bravery and Selfless Service. He led his team with distinction, contributing to decreased crime rates in Lagos. With over 26 years of service since 2000, ASP Danladi has held various roles, showcasing dedication and professionalism

ASP Obeten Obeten, Team Leader of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Exceptional Bravery. He motivated his team to excel, contributing to significant reductions in crime rates across Lagos. With over 25 years of service since 2001,
ASP Obeten has served in various capacities, demonstrating, dedication and professionalism.

ASP SANI MUHAMMED, DEPUTY TEAM LEADER OF COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2

ASP Sani Muhammed, Deputy Team Leader of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Outstanding Service. He supported the Team Leader, contributing to decreased crime rates in Lagos. With over 25 years of service since 2001, ASP Muhammed has held various roles, showcasing dedication, expertise, and professionalism.

ASP GABRIEL SUNDAY, TEAM LEADER OF COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2

ASP Gabriel Sunday, Team Leader of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Bravery and Service Excellence. He inspired his team to excellence, contributing to decreased crime rates in Lagos.

A seasoned law enforcement professional, ASP Sunday has 25+ years of experience, serving in various roles since 2001, demonstrating commitment to public service and safety.

ASP ABOLUPE AKINLOYE, TEAM LEADER OF COMMAND SPECIAL SQUAD 2

ASP Abolupe Akinloye, Team Leader of Command Special Squad 2, Lagos State Police Command, has been honored for Exceptional Service. He demonstrated exceptional leadership, driving operational efficiency and boosting team performance, which contributed to reduced crime rates in Lagos. A seasoned law enforcement expert, ASP Abolupe has served with dedication and expertise since 2003.

ASP Charles Igiebor, speaking for the awardees, thanked Torch New Media for recognizing Command Special Squad 2 officers’ bravery, commitment, and professionalism. He pledged their continued effectiveness in combating crime. “We appreciate this recognition, and it will further boost our morale to keep serving with excellence,” he said.
