World’s Largest Hotel Chain Ends 34-Year Pepsi Partnership, Names Coca-Cola Global Beverage Partner

Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel company, has officially ended its 34-year partnership with PepsiCo, signing a new global beverage agreement with The Coca-Cola Company in a major shift in the long-running rivalry between the two beverage giants.

World’s largest hotel chain drops Pepsi for Coca-Cola after 34 years in global beverage deal that also includes Africa
The agreement, which took effect on July 1, 2026, makes Coca-Cola Marriott’s new global beverage partner. The phased rollout is already underway and will extend across nearly 10,000 Marriott properties in 146 countries and territories.
Under the partnership, Coca-Cola’s beverage portfolio including sparkling soft drinks, juices, hydration drinks, dairy beverages and other non-alcoholic beverages will gradually replace Pepsi products in guestrooms, restaurants, bars, lounges, meeting spaces, banquet facilities and other food and beverage outlets across participating Marriott hotels.
Announcing the partnership, Marriott President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Capuano said the collaboration brings together two globally recognised brands committed to delivering quality, consistency and exceptional guest experiences. He noted that the agreement is designed to better meet the evolving preferences of guests and Marriott Bonvoy members while creating additional value for hotel owners and franchisees.
On his part, Coca-Cola President of International Development Henrique Braun described the partnership as a significant milestone for the company. He said the agreement would enable Coca-Cola to serve millions of Marriott guests worldwide with its broad portfolio of beverages while strengthening the hospitality experience across the company’s global network.
The new agreement brings to an end a partnership that began in 1992, when Pepsi became Marriott’s exclusive beverage supplier. For more than three decades, Pepsi products were served across Marriott’s hotels before the company opted for Coca-Cola as its new global beverage partner.
The transition to Coca-Cola products will continue in phases over the coming months as Marriott completes implementation across its worldwide hotel portfolio, reinforcing the company’s commitment to enhancing guest satisfaction and expanding beverage choices across its brands.
