AIG Adegoke Fayoade Welcomes NIS Zonal Commander, Reaffirms inter- Agency Collaboration

Lagos, January 17, 2026 – The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, has received the Zonal Commander of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Zone A, Assistant Comptroller-General Adamu Mohammed, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the NIS.

According to DSP Gbenga Afolayan, Zonal spokesperson, their talks centered on boosting intelligence sharing and operational synergy to tackle national security issues.

ACG Adamu Mohammed explained that the engagement served as a formal familiarization with the Zone 2 Command. He emphasized the importance of deepening inter-agency cooperation to safeguard communities, noting that the Immigration Service has historically benefited from its close partnership with the Police.

AIG Fayoade, who welcomed the NIS delegation with his management team, reaffirmed the Police Force’s commitment to continuous collaboration.

The AIG noted that joint operations and the seamless exchange of intelligence were vital tools for tackling modern security challenges. He expressed his confidence that this renewed cooperation would significantly contribute to public safety and national peace.
